**Accelerated Part I - Spring Practicum (40 hours) - OAFM APPROVED** **Dates:** April 7, 13, 14, 27 & 28, 2025 **Times:** 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Embark on the first part of your journey to becoming an Accredited Family Mediator with our Accelerated Spring Practicum - Part I. This 40-hour intensive program is a prerequisite for Part II and is designed to provide you with hands-on experience and essential skills in mediation. During this practicum, you will engage in 40 hours of instructional time, including one mediation session with professional actors to simulate real-life scenarios. You will learn to email and call clients, set up intake appointments, request necessary documents, and complete a full mediation process from start to finish. This includes conducting intakes, mediations, and compiling comprehensive mediation reports. What sets this practicum apart is the focus on practical aspects of starting and managing your own mediation practice. You will gain insights into working with transfer payment agencies, court-connected mediation programs, and effective case management. Our curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including intake and screening processes, readiness assessments, and tips for success. Additionally, you will benefit from guest speakers who are experts in the field, and access to valuable resources on creative marketing, billing, website development, and promotional materials. We will also explore different types of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), networking opportunities, and more.
